Located along the Capricorn Highway, between Rockhampton and Longreach in Queensland, Australia.

In the town of Jericho, the streets are named after scientists and the town is renowned for their Crystal Trumpeters, a striking sculpture built in memory of the Biblical Jericho, which was said to be destroyed by trumpeters marching around the city's walls.

The area around Jericho was first explored by Europeans when Major Thomas Mitchell passed through the area in 1846. By the 1850s settlers had moved in.
