A small historical town established in the gold rush days with a rich gold and copper mining history. Experience a complete town tour, see the famous open cut Mount Morgan open cut gold and copper mine, view dinosaur footprints on the ceiling of the clay caves that date back 150 million years and are an eerie reminder of prehistoric times.

Visit Mount Morgan Museum with its wonderful collection displaying and reflecting the lifestyle of a mining town. At Anzac Park you can see the Coronation Light, built in 1902 to celebrate the crowning of King Edward VII.

The Heritage Mt Morgan Steam Railway Complex where they operate a fully restored Hunslette Steam Locomotive, purchased from England in 1904 and worked at the mine until 1947. This small but quaint township on the crest on the mountain is well worth a look.
