North Dandalup is located an hour's drive south of Perth in the picturesque Shire of Murray in the Australian state of Western Australia.
The townsite was included as a stopping place on the South Western Railway back in 1894. A schoolsite was set aside in 1899, a hall and recreation ground followed years later in 1915. However, it wasn't until 1972 that the area was gazetted a township.
Today, North Dandalup has a primary school, hall, convenience store and a fuel station. It also serves as a stop on the Australind passenger train from Perth to Bunbury.
Nearby North Dandalup Dam offers recreational facilities and water-based activities including sailing model boats, wading and beach games.
The grassed area next to the lake is ideal for picnics with free gas barbecues, toilets and ample parking within easy reach.
