infoArthur River Info

Two and a half hours' drive south east of Perth on the Albany Highway lies the historic town of Arthur River, which dates back to the early 1850s. Arthur River's past is evoked by the town's grand buildings, many of which have been restored.

The Arthur Wool Shed, which dates back to the 1950s, is a community shearing shed established so that local farmers could bring their sheep to one central location at shearing time. Extensive restoration work has been undertaken on this building and it is now listed as a heritage building. Farm stays and backpacker accommodations are available.
