Ski ResortsAustralian Ski Resorts attract thousands of visitors each year. The most popular and well known Australian ski resorts are located in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales. There are four ski resorts in New South Wales which are Thredbo, Charlotte Pass, Perisher Blue and Selwyn Snowfields. All of these resorts offer ski lift facilities, but you will find Australia's highest ski lift at Thredbo which is a massive 2,037 metres.

Thredbo's main attraction is Mount Kosciuszko, which is well known for being Australia's highest peak. Located just 500 kilometres away from Sydney, you can choose to purchase passes into the resort from one to five days. The Thredbo resort features a wide selection of restaurants, bars, as well as child care facilities.

There are several ski resorts in Victoria and a great example is the Hotham ski resort. The Hotham ski resort features some fantastic skiing conditions and is also home to a wide selection of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants. With Hotham's fantastic resort facilities and excellent skiing conditions you are sure to have a memorable holiday. The base of the Hotham resort is set at an elevation of 4,774 feet with the mountains peak rising to approximately 6,070 feet. Other well know Victorian Ski Resorts with an operating lift system are Falls Creek, Mount Buller, Mount Buffalo and Mount Baw Baw.

There are two ski resorts in Tasmania which are Mount Mawson and Ben Lomond (which is the most popular of the two). Located two hours away from Hobart and just one hour away from Launceston, Ben Lomond is a huge ski resort that covers over 14 hectares. The highest peak there is 5,151 feet and the resort boasts three platter and three T-bars. Daily passes are available and if your keen for some cross country skiing there are six kilometres of marked trails.
