Central Coast

Central coast stretches about 200km from Sydney to Newcastle. The area is filled with National Parks and is very beautiful. If you want to visit the central coast take the Pacific Highway, as the freeway between Sydney and Newcastle bypasses the area.

Gosford is the main town along the central coast, situated on the edge of the Brisbane Water. There are numerous Aboriginal engravings and sites in the Brisbane Water National Park, south west of Gosford. For coastal walking visit the Bouddi National Park which trails the coast north of Gosford.

Pearl Beach is a pretty beach just south of Gosford, which is a great place to chill out and relax. Further north along the coast is the complete opposite. Terrigal is a lively beach resort popular amongst surfers, so if it is activity you want then don't miss Terrigal out. Inland there are also various lakes and rivers worth visiting.

Brooklyn offers fishing, kayaking and other water sports on the Hawkesbury River. Another good fishing and boating town is The Entrance where you will find the Tuggerah Lake. For sailing and water skiing head further north again to Lake Maquarie.
