Become a safer and more aware driver, whilst receiving tips from the experts on Mt Cotton’s Diesel Skid Pan. Skid pan driver training gives you the chance to jump behind the wheel of our rear wheel drive Lotus Exige or automatic sedan and learn the secrets to increased vehicle control.
This is the ultimate in driver training and skid pan control! Just imagine, it’s a miserable wet day and you’re unaware that a truck travelling ten cars in front of you is dropping diesel all over the road. Suddenly the car in front props and you have to brake and swerve to avoid a collision.
Your car suddenly skids sideways! What you do next could save your life. Do you know what you would do? Driving one of our rear-wheel-drive Lotus Exige’s, you will be personally coached in the skills necessary to correct a skidding car.
During the skid pan driver training you will work to correct oversteer and understeer and learn what to do if you lose control of your car. More importantly, you will learn how to avoid getting into these situations in the first place. You are also welcome to try your own car on the skid pan (subject to noise restrictions).

This experience is available for evening sessions from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Bookings are essential, please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

The experience will operate with a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 12 participants. Single bookings are welcome.
GUIDELINES
You and any guests will be required to complete an indemnity form prior to participating in this experience. To drive a Lotus you should not exceed a max height of 190cm and approx 125kgs. You must hold a valid driver’s licence (L, P or unrestricted) and be competent using a manual transmission (if you wish to drive the Lotus). It is essential that you bring your license with you on the day. You must be drug and alcohol free otherwise, we reserve the right to refuse participation in the training session. This experience is not suitable for pregnant women or those people suffering from a heart condition.
DRESSCODE / WHAT TO BRING
Casual and comfortable clothing is recommended. For safety reasons, fully enclosed shoes must also be worn.
OTHER
A basic BBQ, tea, coffee and refreshments are all inclusive. Spectators are welcome at a cost of $10pp (payable directly to the supplier) and will be entitled to BBQ, tea / coffee and refreshments. For catering purposes please advise the supplier at the time of booking if you would like to bring spectators on the day.
If you choose to use your own vehicle in this experience is must be well serviced, in a road worthy condition with valid registration and insurance. It also must meet normal legal noise requirements.
