We all want perfect buns, and this is the place to learn how! This 3 hour workshop is designed to introduce you to the ancient craft of artisan baking. This experience will give you not only the background knowledge of what goes into making a great loaf of bread, but the skills to mix, mould, ferment and bake your way to bread perfection!
Bread is a central part of our diets, one that has in the past suffered at the hands of industry meaning loaves full of preservatives and sugar. Allow one of Australia's leading and most decorated artisan bakeries to take you on a practical, interactive course aimed at introducing you to the benefits of using the best ingredients and simple techniques to produce amazing bread.
The class begins with an explanation of the bread making process. Why do we use a natural yeast starter? What does cold fermentation entail? What is proofing?
With the necessary theory firmly under your belt you progress to hands-on activities such as mixing, kneading and “hand-moulding”. Placing your thoroughly kneaded masterpieces in the oven allows time for a grand tour of the bakery, closely followed by a tasting session of matching bread with cheeses and cured meats . . . with a glass of wine of course!
At the conclusion of the class you get to take home your baked goodies, plus some extra treats from the retail outlet, so everyone in the family can admire your skills.
