Looking for a travel buddy for my 6 month working holiday trip around AUSTRALIA

Hey all guys and girls.

I want to see Australia, and I'm looking for someone to come with me on this huge, adventurous road trip I'm planning.

I want to get a real in depth experience of the entire coastline of Oz, and so I envisage that myself and a like-minded person will go in my car and live in various places around australia for a "working holiday". The whole thing will take between 6 to 12 months.

So are you the kind of person who is as curious and excited to see all of Australia as I am? Or do you know someone like this? Please read on!

I'm looking for someone who is

1. Around my age (18 to 24).

2. Is easy going

3. Wants to see Australia!!!

4. Is willing to rough it with me (i.e camping on most nights or sleep in the car - I'm taking a swag, and I could put a mattress in my station wagon if reqd)

5. Can fend for themselves (doesnt rely on anybody else to look after them)

We'd probably camp on most nights, and maybe go couchsurfing on other nights (see www.couchsurfing.com)

Before I go Ill have a list of "must do" things in each of the places we'll be visiting/temporarily living in. This could be stuff like sight seeing, para-sailing, riding on old trains, sky-diving, clubbing, wine-tasting at a winery (theres a lot of them in SA) - whatever takes our fancy!

I plan on living in or visiting each of the capital cities (sydney, melbourne, adelaide, perth, darwin, brisbane in that order). Its gonna be absolutely awesome! And of course we'll have plenty of time to do unplanned stuff as well :-)

I cant possibly save enough money before-hand to last for 6 months or more, so I plan on getting temporary or casual work in any place where we'll be staying for more than a week. If you're considering taking up this opportunity, then you too should expect to try to get work - we'll need the money for all of the exciting new things that we'll do around Australia.

I see that fruit picking is a popular and easy to get type of job for people who are travelling, so thats one option for myself and whoever is coming with me. I can also pretty easily get casual work in any of the fields that I have previously worked in, but we'll leave those details to later on.

I plan on leaving for this trip somewhere between January to March in 2008, and expect to be back home on the Gold Coast by December 2008 (at the latest), in time for Christmas.

I'm your girl! 24 Yr old, planning the same next year. Are you still seeking the perfect travel buddy.. if not dump the one you found cause I am living on your wave length. Looking for Kombies atm for my trip.. Was planning to work around Aus, hoping to stick as close to to the coast as possible love the ocean, being active, and spontenaty, the thought of waking up somewhere diffrent everyday thrills me to the core, certaily free spirited but looking to take it to a whole new level.

Want to have the adventure of a life time and there is no better place to have that than here in this amazing country!
I was planning to gig around Oz, have my guitar and just bought a PA. want to put my plans into action and get this trip organised so i can start to redistrubuting my funds to the approprite channels..

Hi,
I'm a 23yr old female from Brisbane and have just decided to travel Aus in 2008. I am looking to drive my car down the east coast, over to Melbourne, along the coast then up to Perth. From there I don't know what I'll be doing. Actually for most of the trip I don't know what I'll be doing (which is pretty much how i want it to go) other than working to keep myself sustained and exploring this amazing country. Would love to hear what type of plans you have and what sort of work you'll be doing. Even if we don't veture around together, it'd be great to catch up somewhere along each of ours journey. Hey take me!!! Hope you haven't already found a travel buddy, or if you have can I join you guys?

I am 22, just finished my degree, lookin to travel out to Oz this summer, got a work holiday visa, wanna explore, work on an off, have some fun, well up for roughin it (a keen camper). Super chilled, just wanna take a year away from the stress of the fast pace London life, learn to surf, meet some locals, experience a alternative way of life and really get back to nature.

Yeah its an escape, an yeah I wanna have some fun, but I am also highly motivated and organised and would carefully plan our adventure an make sure we really make the most of the year.
