Easter bunny

I was packed into the back back of my parent’s wagon. My Dad smiled at me as he clicked down the back seat, locking my lanky legs in to the position they would stay for the duration of the ten hour drive. I didn't mind too much though, doped up on travel sickness pills I snuggled into my pillow and fell a sleep. Coming to, at the service station in Moree I sheepishly asked how much further we had to go. My mother replied “Only another four hours”, handing back the bottle of water and another sleeping tablet.
We arrived at my uncle's farm at eight o'clock that Easter Saturday night I was ushered into my cousin’s room and allocated a bed. I barely slept a wink that night. Mixed with thoughts of all the eggs to come and worrying whether or not the Easter bunny would find me all the way out on my uncle's farm. The next morning I searched the end of my bed for eggs but found none... walking out to the kitchen in hope of finding them there, I noticed all my cousins standing around something on the lawn. My younger brother Anggie was crying violently....and it was then that I saw it. There on the lawn surrounded by chocolate eggs lay a dead bunny. Standing proudly over him stood my uncle John, with a gun resting on his shoulder. "He shot the Easter bunny” I screamed.
The parents still tell the story of the time Uncle John shot the Easter bunny. Although it scared their darling children for life they still recall how Uncle John had got up early that Easter Saturday, went out and shot a rabbit then brought it back to the house and surrounded it with eggs.

1).

Not really funny. SHouldn't be using sleeping pills to dope kids on long trips, irresponsible. How awful to traumatise kids like that on a day when they should be enjoying their childhood, while it lasts
