Perth - Exmouth PADI Open Water Diver Road Trip
I'm an adventurous 28 year old from England wishliing to see and do everything! I'm currently living in Perth with family.
I'm planning a round trip from Perth to Exmouth to complete my PADI Open Water Diver course on the Ningaloo Reef - I'm told it's the most beautiful place to do it! It's something on my bucket list and would love to meet somebody else who would love to do the same!
I've planned a lot of stops on the way/way back including the following:
- The Pinnacles
- Jurien Bay - Snorkeling with endangered Australian Sea lions, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Jetty
- Leaning tree - 5 minute stop on route
- Pink Lake
- Kalbarri National Park - Nature's window, Hawks head lookout
- Shell beach
- Monkey Mia - wild dolphin feeding in the bay
- Carnarvon - 1 mile jetty
- Quobba blow holes
- Ningaloo reef
- Oyster stacks snorkeling
- Turquoise Bay
- Exmouth diving centre - PADI takes 3 diving days plus some theory prior.
Another potential extra is Karijini National Park but I can include that if we have the time - I have as much time as is necessary. The trip there and back will take a few days with the stops and I'll need to stay in Exmouth for at least 4 days for the course. There's lots to see in Exmouth if you're not so keen on diving as it's a beautiful area.
I'd love to hear from anybody that might be interested! I plan on going at the very end of April/start of May.
Any questions, drop me a line.
Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Sarah and Yan
No need to pick me up - I'll be driving and have to return the car to Perth anyway but we may well cross on our travels. I'll let you know the date I leave (probably 6th May) then perhaps we'll meet along the way.
Kind regards, Amber

do you want to travel up north to Darwin? We can definitely pick you up in Ningaloo Reef or even further south. We planned some stops before Ningaloo Reef anyways.
Cheers, Sarah and Yan

Hi Sarah and Yan
Thanks for getting in touch.
I've had to have a slight change of plan because both Ningaloo and Exmouth dive schools said they don't have enough people to run the PADI Open Water course so I'll be doing that in Rockingham next weekend before heading up north. The course I'll be on is Friday to Sunday so I'll miss you unfortunately but if you're planning any diving on Ningaloo I might catch you up when you're there. I expect to reach Ningaloo on the evening of the 7th.
Kind regards, Amber

We are two travel mates from Germany with an open water licence travelling up the westcoast from Perth to Darwin. We hired a campervan where up to 5 people can sleep in. Your plans sound great! We'll leave Perth at the 4th of May. Wanna join us?

I'm planning on going next week.
It will take a couple of weeks but could be slightly shorter if not doing Karijini although the canyoning etc does look pretty impressive.

when are you planning to do it and how long it will take

Would have loved to join you but I want to go much earlier than the 11th - I'm in Perth already so hoping to go within a week if possible. I will, of course, let you know if I manage to juggle some other ideas around because it would be great to go with you.
Kind regards, Amber

I am traveling to Exmouth from Perth on the 11th May. I am hiring a van or 4WD and taking a few days to get up there. I wont be able to stay 4 days in Exmouth as I have to get back to Perth to fly to Bali, but I am happy to share the drive up with you, if you are interested. I am planning to see a lot of the same things on the way up. I am a 35 year old nurse from the Gold Coast, and it will be my first time in WA :)
Let me know if you're interested in ridesharing

That's such a shame! My uncle is coming over from Sydney tomorrow so I'd like to wait until after I've seen him.
Thanks for getting in touch though and I hope you have an incredible time! Any suggestions, do let me know.
