I will be in Cairns in November these year and I want to do some snorkelling. But now I have heard you can't because of the Irukandji jellyfish. Can somebody tell me something about that?

While it is Jelly fish season, people still snorkel all year round... if you go out to the reef on a charter, they will probably provide you with a stinger suite (a full body lycra suit) that will protect you from the stingers. You can also purchase the suits from alot of Cairns stores.
