Still in full operation is the free 24-hour vehicle ferry between Lawrence and Woodford Island and is a great experience for anyone who has never experienced this antiquated mode of transport. The entire area around Lawrence and Maclean is rich cane growing lands. One of the local sugar cane farms is open every Friday for visitors to inspect and gain an insight into this rural industry.
