The telephone code for Canberra and ACT is 02. You will find payphones situated in and around the city, as well as inside the numerous shopping centres.
At present, Canberra has few Internet cafes. However, they do exist. In the Civic is an Internet lounge in a small business/computer complex. You can also access the Internet from the National Library and the Civic Library as well as from some of the smaller libraries situated around the city centre. Both the YHA and Victor Lodge offer access. In addition you may also try the shopping centres that may have a coin operated Internet booth.
The main post office is Canberra City Post on Alinga Street. Located in the Civic (city centre) the building is open weekdays from 8.30am until 5.30 pm.
