The town of Leinster is located approximately 370 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia's northern goldfields. Leinster has often been referred to as the 'home of the wedge tailed eagle'. Initially a goldmining town, Leinster is now more famous for its nickel mining and large sheep stations.
Leinster and its surrounding areas are home to an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, emus and wedge tailed eagles. Visit the rock formations to the east of town. The nearby historic towns of Agnew and Lawlers and the rock formations to the east of the town are also worth a look. Travellers to Leinster can stay at the town's hotel/motel or caravan park.
