infoMadura Info

Madura is located five and a half hours' drive east of Norseman, on the southern coast of Western Australia. Madura was settled in 1876 as a place to breed horses for the Indian Army. Today it is a welcome stop when traversing the Nullarbor. A number of private sheep stations are also in the area.

The Hampton Tablelands form a backdrop to Madura; visit the Madura Pass lookout for panoramic views of the coastal plains. Blowholes can also be seen at the Pass. Ask at the roadhouse for directions to the Mullamullang Caves which lie to the northwest of the settlement and which are reputedly larger than the caves at Cocklebiddy.

Madura provides dine in and takeaway food. Enjoy a la carte dining in the restaurant or good Australian pub food in the bar. Enjoy a game of pool in the motel bar. Madura also has powered caravan and camping sites, and budget and standard accommodation.
