FURTHER INFORMATION: MacCabe Corner was officially named in honour of pioneer surveyor Francis MacCabe who conducted detailed surveys of the area in the 1840s and is known for recording Indigenous names of the various geographic features. He is also remembered for paving the way for Sir Thomas Mitchell to complete his 1853 map of southeastern Australia.
