Around the city there are a number of retail outlets at varying prices. There are several art and craft shops where you can buy artwork by the Tiwi people and from central Australia. Cultural Images in the Transit Centre and Smith Street Mall offer didgeridoo lessons, an added bonus to just looking at the goods.
Darwin also holds a couple of markets. Mindil Beach Market is held every Thursday and Sunday evening, where you can buy Balinese and Indian clothing. For a mixture of Australian, Aboriginal and Asian goods, go to Mitchell Street Market any evening between 5.00pm - 11.00pm.
