Brisbane Wildlife Parks
Brisbane hosts a few wildlife parks, including the Alma Park Zoo at Kallangur and the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary at Fig Tree Pocket (which is the largest koala sanctuary in the world).
The zoo is open everyday from 9.00am - 5.00pm and is home to a number of Australian and exotic animals. You can catch a train to Dakabin from the Transit Centre where a zoo bus will take you on to the zoo itself.
The main attraction at the Koala Sanctuary are the koalas which you can hold, although you can also picnic with kangaroos and see other Australian wildlife. The park is open everyday from 8.00am - 5.00pm and can be reached on the Cityxpress number 581 from Queen Street Mall Bus Station or by boat leaving everyday at 10.00am from North Quay.
More Australian wildlife can also be seen at the Australian Woolshed at Ferny Hills, including the most famous Kangaroo and Koala.
