Salamanca Place is a lively place to go, with its daytime shopping and galleries, and its evening restaurants. The architecture is made up of extremely elegant colonial buildings of the 1830's, once the home to Hobart's trade and commerce.

Along with the attractive Georgian buildings you should also visit historic Kelly's Steps. Built in 1839, Kelly's Steps lead from Salamanca Place to Battery Point.

The Salamanca Markets are another must see, when visiting Hobart. The markets are open from 8.30am - 3.00om every Saturday and host a wide range of arts and crafts.
